Emergent Files Merits Amicus Brief Before SCOTUS in Plumhoff v. Rickard

On behalf of the National Police Accountability Project and the Human Rights Defense Center, Emergent Legal has filed a merits amicus brief before the Supreme Court of the United States in Plumhoff v. Rickard, a qualified immunity case arising from the shooting deaths of two citizens by police officers in July 2004.  A short synopsis of the case, the lower court opinions, petition-stage briefing, and other merits briefs are in our prior post on the case.  Our merits amicus is here.

This is the third Supreme Court brief filed by Emergent and its founder on behalf of NPAP, HRDC, and their affiliate organizations, and we are grateful for the opportunity to represent them once again.
