Emergent Legal earned a defense verdict following a bench trial in Alameda Superior Court today. Our clients, commercial landlords, were sued by squatters who asserted a right of tenancy and a host of claims related to the conditions on the property where they had illegally taken up residence. Following testimony and argument, the court found that no oral or written rental agreement had ever been reached and no rent ever paid to our clients, and entered judgment in their favor.
We're grateful for the opportunity to represent these small business owners, and pleased that this lawsuit is now behind them. To find out how Emergent can help you at trial or otherwise, contact us.
