Since last year, Emergent Legal has represented a group of janitors who purchased franchises from nationwide franchisor CleanNet. (Prior posts on the dispute are here and here.) The case was ordered to arbitration in February, and we continue to represent our clients there. Today, the Wall Street Journal published a short piece (linked here) discussing evolving worker classification issues in the transportation and janitorial industries. About midway through, the article takes up the example of Maria Jacobo, one of our clients in the ongoing CleanNet litigation.
We're grateful the WSJ is devoting attention to these cutting-edge legal issues, and grateful to be part of the debate. To find out how we can help you navigate your own changing legal landscape, contact us.
