Ken Szeto, partner
Kenneth Szeto has specialized for over seventeen years in civil litigation, particularly representing individual plaintiffs in personal injury and employment matters.
Mr. Szeto has extensive experience representing plaintiffs in all types of litigation in both federal and state court, including personal injury, wrongful death, wage and hour claims, wrongful termination and products liability. He has handled litigation through all stages of trial court proceedings, as well as negotiated settlements in arbitration and mediation.
Before joining Emergent, Mr. Szeto ran a successful plaintiffs' firm in Orange County for ten years where his emphasis was complex personal injury matters. He successfully recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients on a broad array of cases, such as clients that have suffered horrific injuries from motor vehicle/traffic accidents and clients wrongfully terminated from their employment.
Among Mr. Szeto's accomplishments are:
Successfully securing maximum awards allowable under the law for multiple clients injured in automobile accidents.
Negotiating an aggregate of over several millions of dollars in settlements against nearly all major insurance companies in America.
Sitting as the Academic Chair of the Asian Pacific Law Students Association at Columbia University.
Authoring an article in the Daily Journal, California's largest legal news provider, on the importance of protecting yourself against the uninsured.
Mr. Szeto received his Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998, and his Juris Doctorate degree from the Columbia University School of Law in 2001.
