Johnny regularly represents clients engaged in difficult and complicated real estate and business disputes, and his passion is working diligently and meticulously to ensure that his strategic approaches mesh with the goals of his clients.  Johnny works to see every angle in litigation so that advantages can be seized and disadvantages can be most effectively tempered.

On the real estate side, he routinely advises and advocates for clients in matters pertaining to commercial landlord-tenant disputes, broken real estate transactions, non-disclosure cases involving the sale of real property, and failed business partnerships in real estate investment. He also frequently represents parties in disputes involving homeowners associations, condominiums, and tenancies in common, as well as parties involved in boundary line, trespass, and nuisance actions.

On the business side, Johnny represents members and shareholders of LLCs and corporations that are undergoing business divorces, where claims for fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract are commonplace.

Johnny has successfully tried both jury and bench trials involving a diverse array of matters, including real estate and the breakdowns of closely held businesses, and he has been able to secure significant relief—both monetary and injunctive in nature—on behalf of his clients.

Johnny also regularly presents before the San Francisco Bar Association, and has been a panel presenter discussing new and significant real property cases for 2020, 2023, and 2024.

Prior to joining Emergent, Johnny worked with premier law firms in Manhattan and San Francisco, including Latham & Watkins LLP and Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP.  At his prior firms, Johnny's work focused primarily on resolving complex commercial matters for national corporations, government sponsored enterprises, and foreign companies.  He also co-founded the boutique law firm McLaughlin Yeh LLP prior to joining Emergent LLP.

Johnny obtained a J.D. from Columbia University where he was both a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a James Kent Scholar.  Prior to law school, Johnny received a B.S. in Computer Science and Political Science from Yale University.  He is admitted to practice law in California and New York.
